Volunteers

It’s often said that volunteers are the heart of NorthCare Hospice & Palliative Care. They generously offer their time, talents and endless energy. Some volunteer because they want to give something back. Others volunteer because they believe in our mission. Regardless of their reasons, most will modestly say that they receive much more than they give.

“What impresses me most about NorthCare Hospice & Palliative Care is that not only do they nurture and support their patients, but they also take care of their volunteers. We volunteers often become so attached to our long-term patients that they become a part of our families and lives. And when they die, it leaves a hole in our hearts. The caring NorthCare Hospice & Palliative Care staff often sends a sympathy card to the volunteer when a patient dies-to say ‘We know how much this person meant to you.’ The first time I received one of those cards I was truly touched.”
   - NorthCare Hospice & Palliative Care Volunteer

NorthCare Hospice & Palliative Care volunteers are students, homemakers, professionals, seniors and retirees who care enough to share their spare time during the day, in the evening, or on the weekends. We appreciate each of our volunteers and all they do to enrich the lives of our patients and their families.
